Mikes letter to the editor regarding ‘High standard for campaign integrity’

I would like to thank the editor for promptly printing a correction to the recent article “Avoiding conflict between public duty, political interest.” While I was fortunate to have deputies attend my candidacy announcement, they were, in fact, off duty and not in uniform. I am very cognizant of the boundaries between my career and campaign and appreciate the Gazette’s willingness to “watchdog” all of the candidates. It is important to me that the men and women who work for the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office feel free to support the candidate of their choice without the fear of retribution from either side. I am committed to a high standard of integrity and professionalism; my entire career reflects this commitment.Mike Linder
